Stella has worked in mental health and research for the past 20 years. She has 17 years of experience as a clinical psychologist. She spent over a decade working at a specialist service for people with complex emotional difficulties, providing intensive individual therapy and group therapy. She has also worked at the Newcastle of University counselling service, and at Hunter Primary Care, providing therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She provided lectures as a conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle. Stella is experienced in several evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive behaviour therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy, Dialectical behaviour therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Compassionate Mind Therapy, Readiness and Motivational Therapy and the Conversational model (Psychodynamic Psychotherapy).

Stella is warm and compassionate and views therapy as an opportunity not only for self-healing, but also for personal coaching to improve skills. She offers treatment that is tailored to her clients’ specific needs and goals. Her special interests are in teaching mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, enhancing self-worth, increasing motivation and helping her clients to achieve their goals.

Stella is an experienced clinical supervisor and has provided consultation, and presented clinical training workshops and conference papers to mental health staff across Australia over the past 20 years. She continues to offer private individual and group clinical supervision (face to face or via zoom).
